There are already rumours circling that Garfield and Maguire could team up for a Sony-led buddy movie titled Spider-Men – which sounds like a bit of a retread of No Way Home’s plotline – as well as suggestions that Maguire could appear in the forthcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a move that would require reshoots. Frankly, it is hard to see why this shouldn’t happen: the move would suit Sony, which would get to add its own Spider-Man to existing projects while still benefiting from the success of Holland in the MCU. In the mainstream Marvel Cinematic Universe, it’s likely that Tom Holland will continue for some time to come, which has left rival studio Sony (which owns the big-screen rights to Spidey) with a longstanding problem: its superhero flicks set in the world of Spider-Man, such as the Tom Hardy-led Venom movies and the forthcoming Jared Leto film Morbius, are much weakened by the fact that the wallcrawler can’t actually turn up.
That movie is set in the MCU and features the friendly neighbourhood Holland as the webslinger. Given the latter film is being directed by Sam Raimi, who made the first three Spider-Man films, and the huge hype generated by No Way Home after it was leaked that the movie would bring back past Spideys, the studio would be well advised to get working on the reshoots now. After being bit by an exotic spider, Noir reveals to Peter Parker that he became a reluctant hero out of a need to protect his city from being consumed by its own corruption. When Liz accuses him of being a fraud Spider-Man, Miguel uses a holographic device to show her futuristic technology and tell her that he is from the future and is the grandson of Tiberius Stone. Miguel is less than happy with Tyler for stranding him in 2014, Tyler points out that he has returned regardless. While the dance first popped up in Destiny 2’s Eververse Store as part of the 30th Anniversary content in Destiny 2 back in December, it’s worth your attention this week because you can snag it for 700 Bright Dust, the in-game currency you earn just by playing Destiny 2. What’s more, this is the final week in which Bungie is dishing out a free Bright Dust gift as part of the anniversary celebration, which you can grab from the Eververse Store.
Fortunately for Sony, it’s also a problem that the recent Spider-Man: No Way Home appears to have solved, at least in part. The Iron Spider suit made its now-milestone debut during Marvel’s “Civil War” event of the mid-2000s; Peter Parker got the Iron Spider suit from Tony Stark (aka Iron Man) after taking the bold step of revealing his true identity to the public, as part of the stipulations of the Superhero Registration Act. Ollie became so enamoured with Peter that he switched lanes completely, taking up the mantle of Spider-Kid. Seeing as though it was only a made-for-TV movie after all (not to mention, one from the 1970s), I’ll cut it some slack on the special-effects side of things (such as with his web-slinging and the compositing shots) as I suppose they really weren’t that awful when taking into account the decade in which this came out and the very minimal budget it must’ve had at the time of its production (you’ve honestly got to take these factors into consideration when judging a product such as this fairly).
In comic-book terms, this is a bit like making a movie about Gotham City and leaving out Batman. Tragedy would somehow connect us with success and this would be really making us stronger and wiser. Audiences might get a little confused for a while, but only if they have not seen No Way Home; given the film’s huge box office success and the fact it will presumably make its way to streaming services at some point, that may not be an issue for long. You get it by hitting level 3. You’ll do this naturally early on, though will have to spend 2 Backpack and a Base Token on it. While Loki didn’t get a consistent look in his new show, the aptly named Loki, his female variant Sylvie did, creating a new costume for cosplayers to eagerly re-create. While these outfits aren’t all that will be introduced, the reveals offer how much range the character will have in terms of style and inspiration. Not only do these suits allow you to web sling around Manhattan in style, but a number will unlock new Visor or Suit mods that can give Miles an extra boost in battle. Don’t worry, though, a resourceful Redditor has found a way to create Spidey’s homemade suit – you just need an Amazon account.
